It Was Such A Joy — Portrait of Leigh Jeanotte

2015

Printed in Grand Forks, ND under the direction of Kim Fink, now Professor Emeritus, UND. Leigh Jeanotte, EdD., former Director of American Indian Student Services at the University of North Dakota, was instrumental to the success of the printed portfolio “In Our Own Words: Native Impressions,” 2015, portfolio of 12 portraits and broadsides and a collaboration between Daniel Heyman, Letterpress Artist Lucy Gate and Master Printer Kim Fink. Dr. Jeanotte was instrumental in coordinating cooperation between the 4 Indian Reservations in North Dakota and the artists, and this over-sized woodblock was created to honor Dr. Jeanotte for that help.
